The Southern Tier Church of Christ in Elmira, NY is prayerfully seeking an evangelist. We are looking for a man who loves the Lord, faithfully proclaims His Word, and desires to partner with us in making disciples and glorifying God.

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Work alongside the elders to provide spiritual leadership and vision.

• Equip and encourage members to share their faith and make disciples.

• Preach biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons.

• Teach Bible classes for various age groups as needed.

• Build relationships within the congregation.

• Engage the local community through personal evangelism, Bible studies, and outreach efforts.

• Participate in leadership meetings.

 

Qualifications

• A mature Christian man committed to New Testament Christianity.

• Sound in biblical doctrine and able to effectively preach and teach God's Word.

• Demonstrates a servant's heart, humility, integrity, and strong moral character.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all members of the church from young people to seniors

• Ability to collaborate successfully in an environment with elders/deacons/office staff 

• Passion for evangelism, discipleship, and church growth.

• Formal biblical education or ministry training is a plus but not required. Minimum 5 years experience in preaching and ministry.

The Southern Tier Church of Christ is a multigenerational congregation of approximately 125 members. We strive to be a loving church family that is devoted to worship, biblical teaching, fellowship, service, and evangelism. Compensation

Salary competitive and will be based on experience.
